Real Men Wear Pink, A Breast Cancer Fundraising Campaign
Katherine LeBlanc
Breast Cancer is something you hear about all the time – you can’t miss the pink in October, it’s the cause of choice for gyms, retailers and restaurants, but until you’re faced with it head on, you don’t register the impact this disease has. More than 255,000 men and women are diagnosed with Breast Cancer every year and 40% of adults will be diagnosed with cancer in their lifetime. In 2015, those statistics hit home when Jane, Justin’s mom was diagnosed with Breast Cancer.
Justin with his mom, Jane, a breast cancer survivor and his sister, Janelle.
Breast Cancer takes 41,070 men and women away from us every year and is the second leading cause of death for women. We want to end Breast Cancer and make the outcome Jane had a reality for everyone. Jane caught her breast cancer early and after surgery has been cancer free for 18 months. To honor her fight and the millions of men and women that will come before and after her, Justin is participating in the American Cancer Society’s Real Men Wear Pink campaign this month. Our goal is to raise $2,500 in the fight to end Breast Cancer.
We’ll donate 50% from every limited time Pink Daiquiri sold throughout the month of October. We’re also raffling two of Jane’s original Oyster paintings (value of $650 each) at our two locations. For just $10 you can purchase a raffle ticket with proceeds going towards the campaign. Winners will be announced November 1 on Instagram and Facebook.
