Crawfish

Crawfish season can start as early as December and last through June. The best way to cook them is to boil 'em. 5lbs per person is the general rule of thumb when planning a crawfish boil. Prices vary depending on how plentiful the season is. Bevi Seafood Co. offers crawfish live, boiled,  and catered on-site.

Bevi Seafood Co. is one of the few places in New Orleans that wash and sort the crawfish before we boil to ensure you’re getting the highest quality crawfish available.

Shrimp are always in season at Bevi Seafood Co. Shrimpers deliver the freshest white and brown shrimp available year round which are offered fresh and boiled. You’ll also see shrimp featured on the menu fried and BBQ'd on a number of dishes. There are hundreds of ways to cook shrimp. Favorites include boiled, grilled, or BBQ'd. 3lbs per person is the suggested serving size when feeding a group.

A South Louisiana delicacy, Bevi Seafood Co. offers Gulf Coast oysters year round. The winter months are when oysters reach their peak, becoming larger as the weather turns colder. Oysters can be purchased in mini sacks in the shell, shucked gallons and quarts. At Bevi Seafood Co. we like 'em straight out of the shell, but here are some other ideas to cook an oyster:  fried, baked, broiled, or charbroiled. Don’t be intimidated to shuck your own oysters at home.  Chef Justin can give you a quick how-to on how to store and shuck oysters for your next party.

Bevi Seafood Co. offers Louisiana Blue Crabs and Soft Shell Crabs (when available).  

Bevi Seafood Co. carries live and boiled Louisiana Blue Crabs when the quality meets our standards, though Louisiana Blue Crab meat is available year round. You can boil crabs just like crawfish and eat the meat right out of the shell, or you can use the meat in a variety of dishes.  You'll find four types of crab meat when you start opening the crab up: lump, jumbo  lump, claw and crab fingers.

Soft Shell Crabs peak May through September, though they too are seen on menus throughout South Louisiana year round. Their soft shell means there is no peeling or cracking required.
